Nibthwaite Grange Farm, Bletherbarrow Lane, Nibthwaite, LA12 8DB

Drop in Event

If you are keen to improve your gardening skills and confidence why not stop by The Farmer’s Arms Teaching Garden. One of the Garden School’s regular monthly teaching days, students will be busy tending to the plot under the guidence of tutor Karen Guthrie, but you’ll be able to find out more about the school and how you can join next year’s programme.

This year, the school has taught a group of 10 students a variety of tried and tested ways to grow fruit, vegetables, trees and flowers that thrive in our local climate and conditions. The produce they have cultivated has been used in The Farmer’s Arms kitchens to provide volunteer lunches.

The Crake Valley Mapping Project, 12.00noon - 5.00pm
The Stable Bar, The Farmer’s Arms, Lowick Green, LA12 8DT

Drop in Event

Join local artist Kate Lloyd-Philipps for this interactive drop-in workshop and help us develop an alternative Crake Valley map that will share the small but wonderful things that make the Crake a special place.

Suitable for locals and visitors of all ages, we invite you to add your nominations to our interactive map. We want things not on your average tourist maps - the village halls, the honest shops, the farms that sell direct, the compost heaps, the wild flowers, the interesting trees, the minor histories, the makers, the libraries, the mossy banks, the autumn leaves, perfect picnic spots and secluded swimming spaces.
