Get Involved with Volunteer Wednesdays


To date we’ve had 50+ incredible people join our volunteer days. There's still a lot of awork to do, so if you are up for a challenge with friendly locals and staff, join us. We'll reward you with a big lunch as well as tea, coffee, cake and lively conversation.



Tuesday 21st, 12.30 - 2.30pm: Join The Crochet Corner

Would you like to learn to crochet or improve your current skills?

Even if you are a complete beginner, The Crochet Corner is for you. Run by Judith (Joey) Hannah, this relaxed independent crochet group is a space to learn from an experienced teacher, meet fellow crocheters, exchange tips and tricks and get inspiration for your next project.  



Saturday 25th, 5.00pm: The Valley Talks - Architect Cany Ash Demystifies Sustainable Design and Construction 

Architect Cany Ash shares her experience designing sustainable homes with low tech building materials to create more thoughtful, relevant and expressive architecture for today’s communities and future generations. 

Part of Grizedale Arts Black Shed project’s programme, it’s a must for anyone interested in sustainability and local housing. 



Tuesday 28th 12.30 - 6.30pm & Wednesday 29th, 12.30 - 4.30pm:
The Valley Apple Days - Bring Your Apple Harvest for Juicing


Do you have an orchard which needs harvesting or a neglected apple tree in your garden which needs picking?

Not sure what to do with your harvest?

Why not bring your apples to us for juicing?
