A decade after his family’s farm was destroyed by the foot-and-mouth epidemic of 2001, momentous news from home compels an exiled young man to journey home across the broken and beautiful margins of contemporary Britain. Having spent the years since on the nomadic fringes of British society, cycling through transitory jobs and transitory relationships, adrift from his family and past, Adam embarks on a journey home that is at once tortured and exhilarating.

The film premiered at 71st Venice International Film Festival in 2014 and received its UK premier in 2015 at Edinburgh International Film Festival where is was also nominated for the Best British Feature Film and Best Performance in a British Feature Film.

Luke and Joseph joins us as part of our Wednesday night ‘Soup Talks’ series. Each Wednesday, we host locals or people passing through the area to share their stories, films and expertise with a captive audience followed by a bowl of homemade soup (our famous homemade sausage rolls are also available). The Stable Bar is open for drinks before and after the talk and those with tickets, get 10% off drinks on the night too!
