The Farmer’s Arms, Lowick Green – LA12 8DT
Documenting Renzo Martens’s longterm project working in the Congo with plantation workers cooperative CATPC, White Cube critiques how art is used and proposes an alternative restorative function. With its timely message and hard hitting message on a complex topic, the film provokes and suggests comparison and could be easily understood within the local context of the Crake Valley – although less extreme, there are similar underlying forces and implications.
Grizedale Arts has a long term connection with Renzo Martens who recently visited The Farmer’s Arms. The film has also recently been shown at the Whitworth alongside a discussion.
