Explore gelli plate printing with Jess Levine as she guides you through the basics with a series of demonstrations and plenty of time to explore different materials and techniques at your own pace.

Jess Levine is returning to The Farmers Arms on Sunday 18th February, 17th March and 12th May from 11 am – 1pm to run workshops in gelli plate printing.
Gelli plate printing is a free and creative process which people can explore in lots of different ways according to their own interests. Using acrylic paint, a gelli plate and lots of manmade and natural materials, the prints are built up in layers of detail. The technique is easy to learn, quick to make, and suitable for people aged 10 and upwards.
I like to recycle everyday scraps and rubbish to make artwork. This can include garden weeds, bubble wrap, cardboard, netting, leaves, feathers, cotton buds and food packaging. There is no limit to what you can use in this printmaking technique.
The workshops will include a brief demonstration of geli plate printing by Jess, and lots of opportunity to make prints. Support and encouragement will be provided, and there will be ample resources supplied in the workshop, so people can get the most out of it.  At the end of each session we will look at the work produced and provide the time for feedback.
Refreshments are provided in each workshop.

About the tutor:

Jess Levine has been passionate about printmaking for seven years, with gelli plate printing being her dominant medium. Focussed on making, exhibiting and teaching, she has ran many short courses in abstract art and one-off workshops in gelli plate printing. Integral to her teaching, Jess is a firm believer that art is for all and that everyone can find their own creative voice. She has worked in schools, community groups and wellbeing services supporting vulnerable adults, and has a particular interest in the therapeutic application of the visual arts in improving our mental health.
