From 21st November through to 18th December we’ve got a flexible festive offer to suit all occasions and group sizes here at The Farmer’s Arms.
Browse through our menu options below, ranging from informal celebratory lunches in our Café, grand dinners in our private Dining Room or all-out parties in our historic Stable Bar. We’ve got atmosphere aplenty, ample parking and offer delicious home-cooked locally sourced food & drink that will be sure to get everyone into the festive spirit. And, for those stuck on gift ideas, we can hand craft tableware items for your guests to take home with them (see below).
In addition, all our spaces and table settings are decorated with hand-crafted, sustainable decorations to make for an extra special and unforgettable celebration!
Our Christmas Party Menus:
High Tea in the Café
Thursday – Saturday, 3pm – 5pm
£14 per person with tea / coffee or £20 per person with a glass of fizz
Let us know of any dietary requirements in your group and we’ll prepare you a delicious high tea. Each includes a selection of finger sandwiches on our home baked focaccia, freshly baked scones with jam and cream and copious amounts of home baked cake.
Christmas Dinner Menu
Private hire for 20+ people available any day between 21st November and 18th December. For smaller groups, we are able to host you on Thursday – Saturdays in our Café and Dining Room. Get in touch to discuss details.
£28 per person for 2 courses, £35 per person for 3 courses (add £5 per person for a glass of fizz on arrival)

Butternut squash soup with crispy herbs and blackened orange (VG)
Choose between roast turkey or Grizedale Forest venison with roast potatoes, honey glazed root vegetables, pigs in blankets, stuffing, sprouts, gravy and cranberry sauce
(PLEASE NOTE: Each group booking must select one meat option – we will not be able to provide both turkey and venison as all our meat is cooked in whole cuts or birds and not pre-portioned)
Vegetable Wellington with roast potatoes, roast root vegetables, candied chestnuts, stuffing, sprouts, gravy and cranberry sauce (VG)

We’ve got many talented in-house makers who you can commission to make personalised tableware, or gifts, for all your guests. Designed to your specification, below are some ideas of extras to make your celebration even more special:
- Home made Christmas crackers each with a unique gift from a local artist and maker, a paper hat, and a bad joke / useless fact (£6 per head)
- Etched personalised water glass designed by local artist Peter Hodgson (£8 per glass)
- Personalised plates designed and made by our resident potter (£20 per plate)
- OR coffee cups designed and made by our resident potter (£25 per cup)
- Linen napkins printed with bespoke lino-cut prints designed to your specification (£12 per napkin)
