A simple cafe offers our famous refreshments (lunch & teas & drinks of all kinds) made from our own produce at our recently-acquired inn, The Farmer’s Arms.

Garden & House Tours (45 mins, free with entry, no need to book) will start at 10.00, 12.00 & 14.00, 16.00 – led by our long term live in wardens – if there’s anything they don’t know about Lawson Park then it’s not worth knowing!

Venue

Lawson Park, East of Lake, Coniston – LA21 8AD

Celebrate late summer colour and the harvests ripening at the 15th birthday of The Paddies, a unique terraced fruit and vegetable garden made by Japanese farmers, high up in the clouds above Coniston Water. The new Dragonfly Shed will be resplendent and there will be fantastic tours, home baking and our own produce to buy.

The main gardens surrounding Lawson Park reach a colourful peak in September with late herbaceous plantings and bountiful fruit and vegetable harvests in our extensive no-dig beds. The newly planted Brexit Orchard hosts a thriving collection of European Union member state fruit varieties, grafted and donated by the South Lakes Orchard Group.

Inside the main residence, you’re welcome to look at our art and craft collections, browse the Lawson Park Library or just sit in our panoramic window overlooking our wildflower meadow to enjoy the best views of Coniston you’ll find.

Parking on site is very limited so we advise walking or cycling up from East of Lake Road wherever possible – it’s a stunning route to take to us, with incredible views over the lake and the Old Man. We do have two disabled parking spaces close to the building which we are happy to reserve for booked visitors – just Contact us. The main building and its adjacent garden is fully wheelchair accessible, though regrettably we cannot offer full accessibility elsewhere on site.

If you do want to drive up to us, please pre-book a timed 2 hour ticketed car parking space through the link below.

And lastly – please note that Lawson Park welcomes well-behaved dogs only! (we have an extremely elderly cat in residence)
