Key information
Parking on site is very limited so we advise walking or cycling up from East of Lake Road / Machell’s Coppice car park wherever possible.
All visitors wishing to drive to us should pre-book a timed 2 hour ticketed car parking space through the ‘Book Here’ button above. We offer up to two parking spaces for people with mobility challenges, closer to the residence.
The main building and its adjacent garden is fully wheelchair accessible, though regrettably we cannot offer full accessibility elsewhere on site.
Please note that Lawson Park welcomes guide dogs only.
Venue
Lawson Park, East of Lake, Coniston – LA21 8AD
Join us for a one-off day to explore our sister site, Lawson Park‘s gardens, award-winning residence and art, design & crafts collections on Saturday 2nd July, and enjoy a light lunch or delicious tea made from our own produce. And if it rains? We’ve plenty of space indoors.
Open Days are free but we welcome a donation at the gate. Visitor numbers are strictly limited, so you can be sure to enjoy a peaceful visit with no queues.
Inside the main residence, you’re welcome to browse the Lawson Park Library or just sit in our panoramic window overlooking our wildflower meadow to enjoy the best views of Coniston you’ll find.
Lawson Park’s garden is twenty years old this year, and continues to develop under head gardener and resident warden, artist Karen Guthrie. We have extensive fruit and vegetable areas including rare apple and pear varieties, no-dig beds, a growing species rose collection and several different wild flower habitats and meadows, including one close by the front door where grass snakes hatch every summer! You can see more about the garden’s features and view our plant list here.
A simple cafe offers our famous refreshments (lunch & teas) made from our own fruit and veg. Garden & house tours will be available for groups of 6+ for an additional charge. Contact us ahead for details.
