Venue
Lawson Park, East of Lake, Coniston, Cumbria – LA21 8AD

Join us to explore Lawson Park‘s gardens, award-winning residence and art, design & crafts collections, and enjoy a light lunch or delicious tea made from our own produce. And if it rains? We’ve plenty of space indoors.
Inside the main residence, you’re welcome to browse the Lawson Park Library or just sit in our panoramic window overlooking our wildflower meadow to enjoy the best views of Coniston you’ll find.
Lawson Park’s garden is twenty years old this year, and continues to develop under head gardener and resident warden, artist Karen Guthrie. We have extensive fruit and vegetable areas including rare apple and pear varieties, no-dig beds, a growing species rose collection and several different wildflower habitats and meadows, including one close by the front door where grass snakes hatch every summer! You can see more about the garden’s features and view our plant list here.
Entry is £5 (Adults) & £4 (Concession / Under 12’s) and includes an optional tour. Garden & House Tours (45 mins, free with entry, no need to book) will start at 12.00, 14.00 & 16.00 – led by our long term live in wardens – if there’s anything they don’t know about Lawson Park then it’s not worth knowing! A simple café offers our famous refreshments (lunch & teas) made from our own fruit and veg.
Parking on site is very limited so we advise walking or cycling up from East of Lake Road / Machell’s Coppice car park wherever possible. All visitors wishing to drive to us should pre-book a timed 2 hour ticketed car parking space through the link below. We offer up to two parking spaces for people with mobility challenges, closer to the residence. The main building and its adjacent garden is fully wheelchair accessible, though regrettably we cannot offer full accessibility elsewhere on site.
Book a car parking space for Saturday 24th HERE, or Sunday 25th HERE.
