Local farmer and Farmer’s Arms supplier, Maria Benjamin of Dodgson Wood, joins us to share her recent experience teaching soap making to marginalised women in Nepal’s Chitwan National Park.
Invited by Clean City Global, a not-for-profit social enterprise focused on implementing community-led solutions to waste management, food abundance and water security, Maria was part of their work to support the women find sustainable business solutions to secure their own their futures within the National Park’s community.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Maria Benjamin is from Scotland but lived in London where she gained a Masters Degree in Fine Art from Goldsmiths. Since joining her partner John Atkinson on his farm, she has put her energy into making the most of what the farm produces in an ethical and sustainable way, developing the diversification side of the business, including accommodation, a wool brand and a soap and skincare business.
