Soup Talk: Dr Kai Heron
Dr Kai Heron is a Lecturer in Political Ecology at Lancaster University. He writes, teaches, and researches about the thorny problem of transitioning away from today’s exploitative and ecologically destructive economy towards alternative, biodiverse, and democratic futures. He is a co-editor of the De Gruyter Handbook of Degrowth (2024) and co-author of Radical Abundance: How to Win a Green Democratic Future (2025). In this talk Kai will introduce his book Radical Abundance, and discuss its proposals for bringing about a more just food system in the UK and beyond.
