The Café

The cosy heart of the inn, our café offers a relaxed space for lunch, coffee, a snack with the kids or (with its free wifi) even a spot of work. Well-behaved dogs are welcome too.

Our seasonal menu includes soups, sandwiches and salads all made with the same ethical and locally sourced ingredients we use in our Stable Bar menu. Our baking is done in-house, and we are especially proud of our cakes, which are served from an enormous carved dresser that has furnished this room for over a century. The café menu is also available to takeaway, and we sell the wonderful preserves we make in-house. Amongst our soft drinks is apple juice home-made from local orchards, and hand-blended herbal teas.

The café is furnished with original antiques, vintage finds and hand-made new furniture and fittings made in house by our team. We serve from crockery and tableware we craft in our own pottery, and these are also for sale in our shop.

We are happy to cater for functions and private hires, and have a separate dining room and outside space available.
