On 5th Feb we’ll be hosting the launch of a new artist network organised by our very own @jocelynjmcg

Structured as an informal Pecha Kucha style deep dive into Cumbria’s alternative art scene, the event will feature @lauramrharrison @jamie_jenkinson_ @a.c.dickson @jennifermcmillan_ @robsaintjohn and @aadebling

Arrive at 6pm for drinks at the bar + nibbles and a 6:30 start. Booking via our website under ‘soup talks’. See you there!

Rose Mary is back.
Our Wednesday community £7 lunch is back this coming Wednesday.
The fire will be lit in the cosy stable bar.
So come on over for 1pm sharp because as the poster says.
When it’s gone it is gone.

Workshop Tom is on the posters this year so strap yourselves in for some old school scissors and sharpie photoshop. With deliberate spelling mistakes, appalling grammar, and definitely no joined up writing ever. But please don’t complain that just encourages him.

New dates have been added to our website for poetry sessions with the widely published, prize- winning poet and workshop leader Ilse Pedler!

On 27th February, Ilse will be hosting a spoken word open mic poetry event for an informal evening of readings. Bring your own work, a favourite poem to share, or just come and listen!

On 12th March, the poetry writing workshop will explore the pub’s unique and eclectic collection of art, ceramics and glass as poetry writing prompts.

On 27th March, the open mic returns- this time with guest poet Ina Anderson from Vermont who is launching a new collection… alongside the usual open mic slots
