Come and meet local poets and writers for an informal evening of readings. Bring your own work, a favourite poem to share, or just come and listen.
This month’s guest reader is Katie Hale, a local poet and novelist whose work has taken her from Antartica to the Arctic and who has a deep fascination with place. She will be reading from two new pamphlets, Slipped Skin a tender, sensuous meditation on queerness, transformation, and the porous boundaries between land and sea, body and story and Playing Paradise a ‘coming of age’ pamphlet, exploring girlhood through a lens of struggle, hope and purpose. It’s sure to be a fascinating and moving evening.
Sign up on the door for the five-minute open mic spots. Experienced writers or newcomers’ welcome.
