Venue
The Farmer’s Arms, Lowick Green – LA12 8DT
Celebrating the farmer, poet and all things rural that Robert Burns might represent, our Burns Night Party is a cut above the rest!
As Wordsworth declared in homage:
‘Whose light I hailed when first it shone,
And showed my youth
How verse may build a princely throne
On humble truth’
After three weeks of closure for maintenance, The Farmer’s Arms is reopening on the 25th of January to enjoy a three course dinner of classic Scottish dishes made using the best local ingredients. The evening will also include:
- Ceilidh, live band and caller (music and highland/barn dancing) from 8.30pm onwards
- Cocktails on a highland theme, heather, honey, seaweed, salt, raspberries, whiskey, barley and malt
- Poetry with Ilse Pedler and others – a homage to Norman Nicholson (rumour has it that The Farmer’s Arms was his favourite pub)
- DJ Country Soul and the sound of the wild – interspersed throughout the evening
