Bored of opening your kitchen cupboards? Come and make your own handles knobs and light pulls from oak, copper and clay. This day course we will guide you through making simple doorknobs that will bring joy to you every day.
You will be guided through simple carving techniques Using the boiled oak technique you will have the option to stain your handles or hooks to make a smart finish or design. We will be using hazel, oak and ash and making use of reclaimed offcuts to make back panels for the hooks.
You will have the opportunity to make moulded door knobs using clay which can be fired in our kilns. Tom will share his own process of working with recycled copper piping to make coat hooks and door handles.
