Denis McGeary, former Executive Director of Ulverston’s Renaissance Theatre Trust talks about 20 tempestuous and wonderful years presenting arts events throughout Cumbria, from Stage Fight Workshops, Polka Children’s Theatre, Opera 80 (English Touring Opera) the Royal Shakespeare Company, celebrity lectures, jazz, street theatre, kite making. Facing grant and financial crises from day one. Making things happen in theatres, halls, schools, streets, parks, churches and a cattle auction ring. Ad hoc performances that made jaded, seasoned jazz musicians blush.
