We are excited to welcome Steve Tomlin back to the pub’s beautiful meadows after last year’s success! This time we’re offering Steve’s 2 day workshop, which means as well as the basics you’ll learn the important skills of sharpening and looking after a scythe, and get in much more practice one on one with Steve.
Mowing grass, weeds and even brambles with a scythe is easier and faster than you think. It’s also environmentally friendly, quiet and does way less damage to wildlife than a mower or strimmer. Once you’ve got the hang of it, scything can also be mindful and relaxing.
Steve has been teaching for over 20 years, after learning the craft in the Pyrenees (yep, the scythe is not just for flat land!).
He’s a founder member and Training Coordinator for the Scythe Association (Britain & Ireland) and has taught the use of the scythe for the RHS, National Trust, Highgrove Estate and BBC Countryfile.
