Our brilliant young legends are tying aprons, perfecting their latte art, and working hard within a profit-sharing social project where the teens run the show, share the rewards, and build real skills along the way

Poetry Open Mic is back next Thursday 19th- led by the wonderful Ilse Pedler - a widely published and prize- winning poet and workshop leader who facilitates poetry events at our beloved pub!

Come and meet local poets and writers for an informal evening of readings. Bring your own work, a favourite poem to share, or just listen and enjoy.

Yup it’s still dreary and wet and spring feels a way off, but we are starting our acclaimed gardening school for its six year this coming Saturday, February 14.

The school meets one Saturday per month from 10 am to 3 pm and takes place in the pub’s beautiful gardens where we have time and space to try our hand at almost everything you will need to know to develop your own green space successfully. We have vegetable beds, meadows, hedgerows, flower beds, our new community Orchard and much much more.

The School is devised and taught by Grizedale Arts head gardener Karen Guthrie, supported by our new Pub Gardener Anna Burton.

We still have places left and are offering a fantastic discount on the full fees which are usually £495 for all 11 sessions. Use ‘GREENMYFINGERS’ at checkout to get £100 off.

If you’d prefer to pay in instalments rather than one payment, DM us to arrange that. We also have two subsidised places for unwaged participants which are costed at 50% of the full price. Please DM us for details on these.
