Soup Talk: Rosa Prosser
Screening WHEN THE CROWS WALK HOME
“If the Pennines are to be described as the backbone of England, then the Helm Wind is the shiver that runs down the spine.”
WHEN THE CROWS WALK HOME is an embodied investigation into Britain’s only named wind – The Helm. A walk through the fellside – the viewer is taken on a journey with (and by) the wind, moving through seasons and stories as the wind becomes as wind(ow) to the place.
Rosa Prosser is a Cumbrian artist, filmmaker, and researcher pursuing a PhD in Film and Visual Studies at Harvard University. Her creative and research practice explores the entanglements of place, weather, history and story through an elemental lens – in particular, that of the wind. Her film and installation work has been shown internationally, including the RAI Film Festival, Beijing International Short Film Festival, Jakarta International Documentary Experimental Film Festival, and Athens Digital Arts Festival.
Rosa will be joining us remotely for this screening and discussion, however we will broadcast the session at the pub as usual!
