Silk Painting with Ruth Corney
Join Ruth Corney for this lively hands-on workshop. When you paint on silk, you’ll discover how delightful and expressive this art is. The silk dyes you’ll be using behave much like watercolour paints, resulting in vibrant and lively artworks. Working with silk invites you to experiment, play, and let your creativity shine, allowing every piece you create to be vivid, energetic, and uniquely your own.
During the workshop we will use an array of silk dyes and gutta resist (a bit like batik), learning how to outline and define shapes on silk fabric. Experimenting with a variety of painting techniques, you’ll craft a wearable piece that reflects your individual style, working on both free-form and guided designs. At the end of the workshop you will have completed unique silk artworks to take home or – perhaps – as festive gifts!
No experience is necessary, and beginners are welcome.

There will also be the option to purchase additional silk scarves, embroidery hoops and cards. Refreshments and lunches (we will break for 45mins for lunch mid-workshop) will be available throughout the day from our on-site Cafe.
